With over 80 current students, the International Academy Of Music [Guildford Branch] is amongst one of the biggest and successful teaching studios in the Greater Western Sydney area.  The Academy Studio is a fun, relaxed environment where our acclaimed piano program is taught by our caring, professional teachers, who provide fun, easy piano lessons that kids love!

Piano Lessons Near You

Our Academy Studio is very conveniently located; it is located on the same street as the Red Rooster Restaurant on Woodville Road.

We are a 6 minute drive from Parramatta Westfield (no traffic), 4 minutes away from Stockland Merrylands Shopping Centre, and 2 minutes away from Guildford Railway Station.

Some of our students, such as Lara, Samantha and Paul, live up to as far as forty minutes away, but they are so happy with their teacher and lessons that they continue to still make the trip every week!

Exceptional Instruction

Our Academy prides itself on its beginner program, offering a popular easy fun piano program from caring, professional, experienced, and friendly piano tutors that tailors to every level, whether it be the fundamentals of piano, or even the opportunity to compete in the Australian Music Examinations Board Tests.

These tests allow your child to have an internationally recognised piano grading achievement, with kids as young as 6 having sat these exams and scoring top marks with Honours!

Upon your first trial, you will be able to see the awards and reports of all the students who have undergone the exams, and see how the average score is an ‘A with Honours’, which is a reflection of the high quality of instruction our piano tutors provide, and a feat not many studios can claim!

Teaching Kids What They Want To Learn

Kids love to play their favourite songs! Our teachers find a way to help students fuse both their music fundamentals training AND learning their favourite songs into one program, so that not only will they be increasing rapidly in skill, but they’ll be able to play anything they want, and have fun too!

Additionally, our head teacher Steven at the Guildford studio, was born with an ability called ‘Perfect Pitch’, (1 in 10 000 are born with it) and coupled with his many qualifications and years of experience on the piano, allows him to play nearly ANY song you request on the spot, after hearing it only a few times!

So if you have a favourite, Steven can teach to it you on the spot! (a feat not many teachers can do, or offer in their teaching programs!)

Our students are allowed to select ANY of their favourite songs to learn, such as:

– Their favourite songs from TV shows (For eg. Cartoons, Anime, Disney)

-Their favourite songs from movies (For eg. Harry Potter, Marvel, Star Wars, Disney)

-Their favourite songs from the radio or music charts (For eg. Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran)

-Their favourite songs from Church or their culture such as national anthems or cultural songs

The Many Benefits of Piano Lessons

Some of our students, such as Nathanial, were initially forced to come to their first lesson, their parents HOPING that he would like the piano.  Within a matter of a weeks, not only was he able to play his beginner songs well and his favourite one from the radio, but he became CRAZY about piano, AND he started to annoy his siblings by playing these songs nonstop at home on the piano, practicing everyday trying to perfect it!

Steven’s Background (Head Teacher at the Guildford Branch)

Our head teacher at the Guildford Branch is Steven, one of the co-founders of the Academy, a pianist and musician with over 15 years of teaching experience, having taught over 600 students in 1 on 1 and in group classes across numerous public schools in NSW, as well as at the Academy studio.

Steven holds a Working With Children’s Check, 3 Associate Piano Diplomas in Piano Performance, and has cleared all 8 AMEB Piano Performance Grades with Honours, and has the ability of ‘Perfect Pitch’, a rare ability only 1 in 10 000 people are born with, which enables him to play ANY song on the spot as soon as you request it, so you will definitely be in good hands with him!
